Every body is unique. Every body is beautiful. We love the contagious message of strength and confidence that radio dj, emcee and host, Linora Low, carries with her everywhere she goes. Have an athletic build but never quite knew how to style your outfits to really show it off? Linora’s got a couple of tips just for you!
Tip: Show off your curves in a body hugging outfit! Black full length leggings are also great for creating the illusion of longer legs.
I have to be careful with what I wear. Because of my athletic figure, I can look big in certain clothes. So here are some of the styling tips I personally stick to:
- I wear clothes that show off my curves- body hugging but not too much- as it helps in making me not look too chunky.
- I'm short, so to “elongate” myself, I like to wear things that are long and flowy like maxi skirts or dresses.
- Tops that come with either spaghetti straps or have a V neck show off my neckline better.
Tip: Maxi dresses can help to elongate a short frame. Couple that with a deep V-neckline and you’ll be adding even more visual inches to your height!
Some of key styles I always look out for are spaghetti straps, halter necks and tube tops to show off my shoulders and back. I like to keep things simple as much as I can but I do sometimes look out for items that have a bit of bling- those are always good to haves for nights out!
Tip: Add a little bling to your wardrobe for events and parties. Oh, and you’ll never go wrong with a good pair of black strappy heels.
My mantra for life and fitness? Take care of your health, especially your gut health, exercise regularly and the ‘looking good’ part will come as a part of it. To look good shouldn't be the end all result, it's a byproduct. You have one body and one life, so take care of it as much as you can.
Tip: Always wear a smile and rock your outfit with confidence!
We all have different body types. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. The kindest thing you can do is love and accept yourself for who you are. Learn what works for you. From style, to nutrition and all the in betweens. Self confidence is the best outfit, so rock it and own it!
